Adapting Instruction for English Learner Students During Distance Learning: Perspectives from Practitioners

In this interactive webinar, Rachel Garrett, Ph.D., senior researcher at REL Southwest, provided an overview of promising practices and resources to support remote instruction of English learner (EL) students. Afterward, Brenda Arellano, Ph.D., senior researcher at REL Southwest, facilitated a question-and-answer session with EL teachers and specialists. EL practitioners discussed ways they have leveraged strategies and resources to engage EL students in remote instruction and explained how they have collaborated with colleagues remotely. They also offered ways that local education agencies can support and build the capacity of EL teachers during this time.
